precedents

I’m setting a fabulous precedent already but perhaps it is best to be honest from the get-go about my posting capacities.

It has been four weeks since I started my new work schedule and fell off the face of the planet. I’m now working 9 to 6 all week, a morning archives job 9 till 1:30, then a quick lunch in my car, then an afternoon archives job from 2 till 6. I love the work I’m doing but it has taken some adjusting to figure out how to fit the rest of my life around these hours.

Weekends have been consumed by things like driving lessons, family matters, WonderCon, and book club. I’m a party animal apparently.

Today is the first day I’ve had uninterrupted time to get back to editing. I’m halfway through the second draft of this book, dangit! So I’m limbering up the typing fingers a little on this blog and then it is time to turn the Internet off for a few hours. A bunch of hours. Like, twelve hours. Too many distractions, too many pop culture incidents to be enraged about, sometimes it is best just to step away.

I’ll take a break later to adore Orphan Black and love/hate Game of Thrones. Then chug-a-lug onward.

This may be the coffee talking but I have a pretty good feeling about this plan.
